Roommate from Hell!!

I am so frustrated with my roommate! She is such a psycho!!

So first off I moved in with her not knowing her so just some advice
don't ever do that! She complains about everything! She has OCD to the
max. She constantly complains about how I have no common sense because
I donít load the dishwasher to her satisfaction. Also apparently I
leave the lights on all the time (which I don't) and she is
threatening to increase my rent because alllll the hydro I am using.
She also says I never clean.

The fact that I am out of the house 12+ hours a day working and doing
other things by the time I get home it is cleaned anyways (she is
constantly cleaning because she has OCD). She says all I do is sit on
my *** and watch TV. Well working a full time job and being involved
in after work things like going to the gym and volunteering I donít
see how I can sit on my *** all day. Ya maybe I do watch TV on my days
off... it really isnít any of her business what I do.

And she goes on to complain about the shows I do watch! Um *** sorry I
am not into the exact same things as you are... we are different
people and 5 years age difference. Also she goes on to complain about
how me wearing slippers around the house "annoys the ****" out of her
and I need to learn how to walk properly. (this is all in a note she
left me)

Whenever we have had discussions about working things out it is her
yelling at me and constantly swearing (I donít yell or don't swear).

I am so ready to move out. I wont be able to move until Feb 1 because
I need to find a place, save up and buy furniture... how am I suppose
to last another 2 months.

I am a person who gets stressed really easy and this is just so
stressful I feel like I am going to explode. Not to mention I just
went on birth control so my hormones are so out of wack I am getting
so worked up about this I might freak out at work.

I just needed to rant if anyone has any advice that would be great, I
just honestly don't know what to do.

-Nicole

Re: Roommate from Hell!!

Hello Nicole and welcome.

Have you ever considered making a doll(no,don't do that) or locate a picture of her and( no,don't do that either)......

I know it's not a laughing matter and I can relate.
There are tenants above me that smoke drugs(which ruminate in the hallway),while their children are running and jumping nonstop,as they have ADD.

If this person won't let up on you, then may I suggest writing in a notebook(which should be left at work, for all intents and purposes)?
Get it all out of your system;how she makes you feel, etc.
In a separate section, you could devise a plan to move out.
You can also consider putting up a calendar, then crossing out the days until "Project Move" can be put into effect.
Don't allow her to replace your sunshine with rain.

Working and volunteering and finding time to workout;good for you(kudos)

Before you know it,February will be here and you can say good riddance to her forever.Chalk it up to experience and try to tolerate her as best you can.Try to view it as a preparation for what life has in store for you in the near future.
We never stop learning and if we can pick up a few jewels of wisdom along our travels, then we can be better prepared in the future.

The only thing we can actually change about people is our reaction towards them.

Respectfully
Phoenix
