Need help - Stroke Message Board

I’m new to the board and needed some help. I had a stroke in October 2003 that has left me unable to use my left leg and numbness and weakness with the left arm. The stroke took place while undergoing a cardiac cath procedure. I have been through 3 months of rehab. My question is this. The stroke did not show up on a cat scan or mri. How often does a stroke fail to show up on the mri.
Thanks so much for any help. Maybe I’m just still in denial.

sometimes it takes a few days for it to show up on mri. some are very small and very hard to see although they are in a really important area like the brainstem. my first two strokes did not get diagnosed because of this. they woul dprobably show up now if they are big enough
