My father had a stroke two weeks ago- technically, an arterial hemorrhagic stroke w/ ventricular bleed (due to high blood pressure, not an aneurism), blood clot deep in the middle brain- inoperable. They've put the catheter in to drain the pressure- but there's been little change in my dad. The doctor is giving me NO information- I've asked about brain damage, etc... and he refuses to say anything- just 'we'll have to wait and see'. Dad will sometimes move, squeeze hands, follow simple commands, his reflex responses, particularly on his left side are beginning to fade. He is still on a ventilator, eyes will not focus, has fever that will not go away, and we're not having much luck keeping his blood pressure under control. I understand a prognosis is hard to make with brain injuries, because you never really know what will happen- but can anyone out there give me a realistic idea of what's going to happen to my dad? Looking for truthful answers, please!
