| Activities During Recovery
My father-in-law recently suffered a stroke. He was paralyzed on his left side and was unable to move for nearly two months. Since then, he has made a miraculous recovery. He is able to walk unassisted and mentally, he is probably at about 85% of his former capacity.
He has always worked outside and loves to do things with his hands. However, he is not able to drive and he still gets tired pretty easily if he tries to do anything for too long, so he sits around a lot and watches TV, which is something he rarely did before the stroke. My wife worries about him just sitting idle all the time. My question is: Are there any exercises (for both physical and mental) that he might be able to do to help keep him sharp? Thanks in advance for any information.
