uneven pupils... - Stroke Message Board

This morning I noticed that one of my pupils was a lot bigger than the other one and I went to the office nurse and she sent me to the ER, they sent me home saying "it could be eye trauma" but without any tests or anything. I have a history of sinus tach. and yesterday I felt numbness in my face and like I was going to pass out, I've also had a weird feeling of pressure in my head for the past week. Is this a migraine or could it be a stroke?? The dr's didn't do one thing to do any further testing, should I have a 2nd opinion? Please help!!!

I would see a neurologist to try and find out the cause.Your eyes don't do what yours did for no apparent reason.I have what is called Horners syndrome and one of the symptoms is unequal pupils.but this was caused by damage to my sympathetic nervous syndrome due to the NS who was doing my surgery accidently damageing the SNS.any interupption in the facial nerves or the sns chain can cause horners.you need to find out your particular cause.Good luck and please keep me posted,K? Thanks Marcia!!! I went to the eye dr. and they said my eyes look fine, but my color vision has decreased slightly and bright lights are duller to me. So they just said they'll see me back in a month. But I've been having a lot of pressure in my head and pain and dizziness plus my pupil started to get larger again over the weekend then went back down. So I don't know, I should probably get it checked out, but the 2 dr's that I went to didn't seem to be concerned so I don't know what to do.

I also have a pinched nerve in my neck so I don't know if that could cause it as well.....?

I have eneven pupils too.I noticed it after I had my son 3 years ago.I went to eye doc and my reguler doc and they said I was fine.My reguler doc did a mri of my head to look at the veins and that was normal.The eye doc checked them in different lighting and they changed to the same size so he was not to concerned but I still worry about it.My left pupil is smaller than my right and I have sinus problems to.Do you think they did all the necsasarry teat to rule out any thing serious?Sorry,That I cant be more help as I am worried about this too.Thanks.

Thank you so much for your response!!! My right pupil went up first, and then my left one actually just when up last week. It only stays that way for a few hours but I get a weird feeling in my eye like my contact keeps falling out and a small tingling sensation in my face, but only for a few minutes. Both eye dr's I went to said my eyes were fine, so I don't know what is going to happen next. We'll see. Thanks again!!!
