Please HELP!!!! - Stroke Message Board

I woke this am and couldn't use my right hand. It is slightly curled in and is drawn up just a bit. I called in sick to work, since I couldn't even bathe myself without knocking everything over. Went to the doc and she suggested a possible stroke due to my birth control patch or arterial nerve damage. She didn't give me an answer. I'm a 27 year old female, with an eating disorder. Taking 150mg Wellbutrin, .1mg Ativan, and I use the BC patch. Any thoughts? I can use my hand to grasp certain things, but if I hold my arm up to wave hello (for instace), my wrist goes limp.

PLEASE? I still can't use my right hand. The doc was of no help...please help.

If you still can't use your hand, you probably should get yourself to the ER or at least another doc!

What do you mean when you say your doc was no help? did s/he blow you off? Do some tests and can't figure out what else to do? order a neuro or ortho consult?
