it's an interesting thought and I wouldn't necessary dismiss the possibilities. However, becuase of the location of the stroke (in side the brain/inside the skull) it would be hard to imagine how acupunture would help. IT would help with stress related issues caused by stroke, motor control issues, pain, immune system failures, etc. I think it would be like asking if acupunture would heal a broken leg, don't you think? chris
not sure if this is just the same, but i have been suffering from sciatica on my stroke side for the last 12 months. I recently went for a course of accupuncture for this & it has helped brilliantly. Also in the last month i have been diagnosed with spina bifida occulta & the discs on the left side of my spine (also stroke side) are narrowing causing the sciatica. Sorry its a long complicated reply but think they are all connected & the accupuncture has helped
the sciatic pain you are experiencing is significantly different than the organic issues related to the stroke. Remember that the stroke occurred in the speech center of the brain. The brain is hidden beneath the sud-dural and sub-archnoid layers that cover the brain and the skull itseld. While acupunture is wonderful for nerve conductions issues, muscles spams, auto-immune issues, it is not sufficient to address the return of speech. Apples and oranges. chris

Had acupuncture to late to get good results but stopped atrophy from progressing and my abilty to walk much better. It will help reconnect nerve endings that can be brought back..
