| Re: head disconnected from body feeling
Good luck on the appt,i certainly hope he can at the very least, give you some hope and some answers.i know its tough having a child who has been thru some pretty awful nightmare medical crap.my son has suffered from alot of different things.he is 19 now,but i still feel like i am dealing with something 'hurting my baby' ya know?
another thing i wanted to mention is that this could be an ocular issue as well.i know when i get my migrane headaches,i experience this really scarey/freaky "perception" of my arm(its always the one opposite the headache side?)not actually being my arm?this is somehow related to a vision issue within the brain itself.i really cannot actually put into words just what this perception feels like but it is a definite disconnection from my body.i can move it around and have sensation, but when i actually look at it,it just appears almost like someone else placed their arm inside my shirtsleeve or something.its honestly the most freaky thing i have ever experienced in my life, and believe me,since my spinal cord was injured,i have experienced sensations like you would not believe.its an ongoing neuro nightmare where no two days in a row are the same, something is always morphing into somthing else.just unbelieveable really, espescially when trying to actually explain this to someone else, even my docs.so i DO somewhat understand just what your son is talking about.
i will be thinking those positive thoughts for him at his appt.i do hope something can be done to help him.what is the exact extent of his neuro injurys?is this the only residual effect he has or are there other issues he is dealing with as well?
please keep me posted as to what you find out.good luck,Marcia
