standard treatment

HI!
Can anyone advise me? I had a major stroke three years ago. Left severely disabled but have made slow progress. My current problem is having several different doctors who just pay attention to certain aspects of my disability and nobody looks at the whole picture. What I am concerned about currently is having both baclofen and botox and I did have a second muscle relaxer but I would almost slide out of my chair when I had it. I think the botox helped me and I got them every three months, now my doctor set my botox injections in my leg about seven months apart, now I am having severe fatigue every few days and I seem to be losing the ability to bear weight on my left leg which greatly affects my rehab. Can anyone tell me if this sounds like standard treatment and normal reactions.

Re: standard treatment

You really should get an internist to over-see your all your specialists rather than staying with a family doctor. They can act like a clearinghouse, so to speak.

Re: standard treatment

Hi my name is Irene and just started using this site. I had a severe stroke 2 years ago. Which has left me unabe to use my right side. I believe my progress is going along good. I believe it is due to the fact that I have gone to different kinds of help that are what they are called cutting edge people. First I started going to a Neurologist that treats you in a way that causes the blood vessels in your brain to open. I noticed a difference in 2 days. In time I saw that I was able to do small things that I wasn't able to do. He is a very concerned Dr and wants to see you better and I have read his testimonies. Along with this I started with a clinic that does iv therapy. This took away much of the placque I had built up and it made me feel stronger and my walking still improved. Now I am going to a person that does a method of Reflexology. Since going to him I am able to lift my arm more and I am walking better still. I get more from him than I did at therapy. Each of these people are very concerned for my well being not money.
