Hey, I was just wondering how she is doing? And it was nice to meet you in person. You said you were going to see her in July? I hope she is doing better. Let me know.
That would be quite a challenge! It would be great to put all the names and faces together. I often wonder how close my imagination comes to the real people I have met here, I know they are all beautiful inside, and that is what I go by. So many lovely people around us here...

Hi, Alberta!
My mother is holding her own. She was not making enough progress to stay at the rehab hospital so was moved to a skilled nursing facility. I am going to see her in less than 3 weeks. She sounded tired when I called her today but when I told her I was coming to see her she acted so happy! As long as she is happy that is what is important. She doesn't want to try to walk right now. They just have her stand. They have a resident dog, cat, and rabbit where she is which is neat because she is use to her farm animals.
Glad you made it back ok and it was great meeting you and your family. Hope you had a fun vacation!
I am going to visit my mother and help her celebrate her 90th birthday.
Not much change but she has gained back the weight she had lost so in photos you really wouldn't know she had a stroke.
I need some help with something. Finding a birthday present has been a challenge. However, there was one thing she absolutely loved before the stroke. The 7s slot machines! I know she couldn't have anything noisy in the nursing home but...does anyone know of any type of large hand held or computer game that would be very simple for her to use in which the sound could be turned off. Often she just sits playing with her fingers and I would really like to find something she could play on her own. I know this is a tall order but anyone???

So happy to hear you are going to see your mother! As far as the hand held games, I would check Walmart, Target, if you have those in your area. There are also computer game stores, you might try looking online for one near you.
Always nice to hear how everyone is doing...
Forever friends,
Janet
I found several slot games online search I hope this is allowed?

Hey, Larry,
Thanks for helping. She use to love the online ones but she doesn't have a computer. I would have to try and buy her a used one. Not sure I can afford to. I was trying to find a hand held game or little tabletop slot machine with the ability to turn off the sound but don't seem to have any luck.
If you want to send a private message with what you found I think that is ok.
It is with great sadness that I am sharing my mother passed away, January 3rd. She was trapped in a body that could neither speak, walk, or swallow anymore after her stroke and late stages of dementia. I was able to get to her while she still knew who I was, gave many kisses, and held hands. Hospice was wonderful and helped us through each step of the dying process. Just wanted you to know she is finally back with my dad (passed 15 years ago)
a day before his birthday.
