Anyone have a clue
My nephew recently passed away at 3 days old. He was taken in to the hospital on his third day because he'd become notably lethargic, and later died at the doctor's office.
It wasn't SIDS, as we'd originally thought. It was some disease which is often referred to by an acronym, and I think it involves the way glucose is processed. He died because, although he was fed adequately, his system didn't process the food (specifically sugar, I think).
Does anyone have any idea what this is called? I've been wondering for a few days because I wanted to research the condition; I haven't asked the baby's mother just because I don't want to be in bad taste.
If it's any aid, I remember someone saying it was like "reverse diabetes."
