Hello. I am a survivor of a schwannoma (pronounced ssh-wa-no-ma)which is a non malignant tumor of the cavernous sinus and Meckel's cave region in the skull/brain. Considered to be relatively rare, my tumor was about the size of a quarter, caused terrible horrible headaches, and eventually caused double vision and crossed eyes due to the tumor being wrapped around my optic nerves. Thank God, I am fine now, and it has been three years since the surgery at Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, FL.
I would LOVE to see a message board/chat/website that addresses these types of ailments. I have looked all over for more information on my condition, (I want to know the recurrence rate) but to no avail. If anyone out there knows about this problem or knows of a good website, please let me know!! Moderators, please consider adding this type of message board to Health Boards.
