Swine Flu Information Sharing

I love the way that everyone is sharing information during these scary times.

I am recovering from Strep throat and wondering is that makes me more prone to catch the swine flu.

No it don't make your chances of getting swine flu any higher.
Just wear a mask if you go out into any public areas.

Re: Swine Flu Information Sharing

I'm not worried about it. I stocked up on supplies a couple years ago (masks, etc) just in case anything ever happens.
As far as the flu, I have elderberry, vitamins C and D on hand at all times along with other herbals to boost the immune system. Exercise and stay healthy.

Re: Swine Flu Information Sharing

Why would the media scare us... I mean for real?
If anything their trying to help us survive through this.
And yes its that serious. Swine Flu is different then your normal Flu.
It's new, meaning our bodies have not built up immunity yet.
In turn we can stay sick longer, with a higher chance of death.
So please don't say the media is just trying to scare us. Because their not...
Eat to live, not live to Eat.

Re: Swine Flu Information Sharing

Hey, do you live in San Diego? I do, and what folks from other parts of the country may not understand, is that our city is one of the largest points of entry between the United States and Mexico. We have 10's of thousands of people passing between here and Mexico everyday. Many people commute across the border to work.

Our state and Texas have the highest numbers of confirmed cases of swine flu than any other state. I don't see anyone panicking, but instead, keeping up with the latest information, being proactive, and practicing prevention is important. If you have just gotten over strep throat, your immune system is down, and I would avoid crowded places, keep using hand sanitizer, and take it easy.

I also appreiciate the information that is available about this potential pandemic. I wish you well.
