How does swine flu/ H1N1 kill people???

What happens is that the immune system overreacts to the infection and actually begins to attack the body. This explains why young people are more vulnerable, because they have the strongest immune systems.

Victims can also die from complications of the flu. For example, a secondary infection like pneumonia. Or they may have other health problems such as heart or lung problems. The flu can also kill people directly by causing dehydration and respiratory failure.
