I came down with a little tickle cough yesterday. I was over tired from no sleep, so I thought maybe it was from that. I didn't feel bad. Later at night my chest started to feel heavy and my husband said it sounds like there may be fluid in there. Now I have woke up with a slight fever 99.7 in the middle of the night and my chest still feels heavy. I work in a job where I am confined in a place with alot of people for several hours at a time. I am really worried this is the swine flu. What do you all think?
Hi Sandie. It is possible. However after having just gone through it in our house, I would guess your fever would be higher. I had it with a fever of 104.5, DH's fever was 102.5, DS (5) was 103.5 and DD (3 months) had a fever of 103.5. All of us also had stomach issues with it as well. But my son did start out with a really bad cough and low fever which broke for about 6 hours and then came back full force at 103.5. I would keep an eye on it & drink a lot of fluids.
My SF started quite insiduously, at first I just thought I had a regular cold. It took a couple of days for my temp to really wind itself up to over 101 degrees along with all the other SF symptoms. I decided because I work in the healthcare sector to take a few days off to see how it panned out. Glad I did - I have now been off work for three weeks, with at least another week to go!
Hi. In my house the symptoms were a high fever, bad upper respiratory coughs, diarrhea, upset stoaches with vomiting and body aches. My youngest (3 month old) had a sinus infection, ear infection and an intestinal infection which the doctor said were all side effects of the flu. It also took her 23 days to get rid of her fever. It was not high all 23 days.

I can't say it's not possible, but it doesn't sound like the typical cases I've heard about from friends, or like what I had myself. I had closer to a 101 degree fever, severe nausea, aches all over, sore throat, cough, my asthma went from fine to serious in a matter of two days (it was really the first sign that what I was getting was more than a cold), I was constantly exhausted, had a headache, little to no appetite.
