Lupus and the virus
I am afraid I could die if I get either swine flu or seasonal flu as I have SLE. Please advise me on what to do.

My mom called my rheumatologist and they said that you can recieve the unadjuvanted vaccine (dead, so no nasal mist). As long as you don't have any other pre-existing conditions you should be ok if you do contract it. Are you on any immune supressants? I am on prednisone for my asthma... I very well could die if I got it. Good luck and take care!

Hi there.

I agree wit what is posted here. I however got the flu and yeah it kicked me down BIG time. I have SLE and also MS but WOW...

I will spare the details as I do not want to scare anyone. The good news is I am about 60% better and now truly know in my heart that I will recover from this flu.

When in doubt talk to your docs and boards such as this one and the lupus one are huge help esp for support.
