| H1N1 Flu and long term eye problems
My 16 year old daughter was diagnosed with H1N1 flu Labor Day of 2009. Within a month, she tested positive a second time which the doctor said was impossible prior to running the test and it being positive for the second time. Once over the two bouts of the flu she began having what was first thought to be conjunctivitis. Since then, they have determined it to be episcleritis and sometimes scleritis. It is an inflammation of the eyes outer layers. This inflammation comes and goes away but usually only after a round of steroid eye drops. She has been tested for just about everything imaginable. Nothing comes back positive and otherwise, she is a healthy kid. Is there anyone else that has experienced long term side effects of this flu? And if so, what? The only other strange thing with her eyes is that the eye inflammation only occurs during a school year, nothing in the summer. I'm just trying to figure out any connections or ideas that might help us lead to the root of the problem. Any input would be appreciated!
