Post How much sleep do you need a night?

I was wondering how much sleep does everyone need a night to feel refreshed and awake throughout the day? I've been getting about 6 and a half and that doesn't seem nearly enough, but it's difficult to adjust my sleep habits. How many hours do you get?

I would say 8 hours is just about enough.. but if I can sleep in.. I'll sleep for about 10 hours.

I would sleep 23 1/2 hours a day if I could. I usually have to get at least 7 or 7 1/2 to not feel tired when I get up. Our son stays up late with us and sleeps in like us too!

Everyone is different, the norm is eight hrs or more, but many have trouble sleeping more than eight suggest you find a sleep web site, it may help you to understand.

Everyone is different, but generally 8 hours is good. It's the quality of the sleep that matters too. Make sure your room is at a comfortable temperature, there is no lights shining in etc if you can't sleep like that etc.

Try clear your mind before you go to bed soon, so you don't stress.

I hear from people at college that sleep is overrated, but i disagree. I learned that people sleep in 1 hour 30 min intervals in my Psychology class so 7hr 30 min of sleep or 9 hours i would suppose would be the best.

A recent study reveiled that teens need about 9.5 hours of sleep per night. 8 hours is for adults.

teens can not get that much sleep at night considering we have to go to school so ******* early!!

now you know why parents are always trying to get you to go to bed at a decent hour!
when you're a teen you would rather die than go to bed before 10.30, once you're a mom, you would kill to go to bed at 10.30.
life was ever thus!!
i need at least 9 hrs to feel great, i can live on 6,(hating it).
but it's the weekend, sleep-in-time!

I would say about 8-9 hours a night is great. Sometimes it also depends on how you feel when you wake up. If you wake up and feel refreshed, then the amount of sleep you got the previous night was good. Some people can even feel good on 7 hours of sleep. I feel sometimes that if I get too much sleep, I feel sleepier.

I usually get about 7-8 hours a night, but i do have sometimes where i wake up and stare at the wall, i dont know why or how to get rid of those nights, Well im a junior in H.S. so hope that helps

well, 9 hrs will keepme active but to be completely keen I need about 12, but I'm abodybuilder that weighs about 260 lbs so that would explain it

7 hours is great for me....IF I can sleep through the night! That's the key!
