Hey...I NEED UR HELP!!!!! I am a grade 12 student and am working on my final research report for family class...with the loss of my father to brain and spinal cancer in April of this year, I was, I guess you could say inspired, to choose the topic of terminal illnesses in parents. So I have to conduct research of my own and I am looking at how people of different age groups cope with the terminal illness of a parent. So I was wondering that if any of you or anyone you know of has lost a parent to a terminal illness, would mind answering a few questions. Everything will be kept confidential...Thank you so much to anyone who wishes to participate. You can get back at me through this or you can e-mail me.

i never lost a parent.. but i lost my grandmother a few weeks ago to cancer. we all knew what was coming and just tried to live out all the days with her as the best we ever had. eating icecream on the steps of her house, watching the soaps with her on saturday afternoons, long walks, going to the beach. we just lived life each day with the fact of knowing she will die soon and that she asked us not to always cry and worry, and to act like everything was normal.
the worst part was trying to explain to my 4 year old cousin why grama was sick. that can be difficult with younger children.
I havent lost a parent but I have lost my grandma due to cancer. We were VERY VERY close.I spent at least 5 hours with her everyday. After her death my grades dropped BIG TIME!For the most part i got as and bs i started getting ds and fs for the first time in my life.It affected me ALOT.It affected my cousin who was also close to her just as bad if not even worse(she basically raised him!)Im was 11 at the time my cuz was 14.It was also had a BIG impact on my lil cuz(was 6 @the time) she would always hold convos with her she said she seen her and a whole bunch of odd things like that my lil sis age 2 also said alot of things about out grandma bein in er room and playin ball with her.Hope i was a lil help.
