Question Braces...

I have braces, and i am going to start high school this fall, that and i just got oral surgery, on my eye teeth, because they were impacted or w/e, so basically i have braces (clear brackets, not invisiline though), and missing eye teeth! I hate it!! I'm starting high school, and i know as dumb as it is, looks DO matter in high school, i've never thoguht of myself as an ugly person until people did all this stuff to my teeth!! so pleez help me, does this really matter to people...or will i still have guys who like me and good friends?

I'm not sure which teeth you mean when you say your "eye teeth". But, I know that some girls with braces really turn me on.

I do not know what eye teeth are either, but plenty of people in high school have braces. My friend still does and he's going to be junoor, and i didn't get mine off til the end of 9th grade but I didn't have a problem, braces are fine, don't worry about it.

Hi,
I had horrible teeth! My teeth were the first thing anyone noticed about me and I thought I was the ugliest thing in the world. But when I got into high school I got a boyfriend right away. I even had this thing called an expander in that made this huge gap in between my front teeth. It was horrible I could stick my finger through it. But, guys still liked me. Then I had jaw surgery and had a swollen face for like two months. And my boyfriend stayed with me the whole time and guys always liked me. But, now I don't have braces anymore and nothing has changed except my teeth are nicer. I'm sure guys will like you. Unless they are really shallow and if they are you don't want them anyway. You want someone who will like you no matter how you look. Hope that makes you feel better. Take care!

Don't let it bother you that much, I rarely notice braces, and when I do, they don't bother me at all, doesn't make a difference either way. In response to the missing "eye-teeth" it won't make much difference, I have two small holes, kinda drilled into my teeth in the sides of both my "eye-teeth" and people find it, more appealing then anything else, just keep your teeth clean, by brushing, flossing, and everything else, and things will be fine
Like the previous person said, all you need, is positive thinking! =)

Braces don't worry me, and they shouldn't worry anyone else. If they do, they're shallow.

I'm not sure what you mean by eye teeth, but don't worry about braces girl! SOOO many people have braces these day's, especially in highschool. I had mine on 9th and 10th grade too. My aunt had clear brackets and they look fine. Besides, all the people I've seen in school have metal, so you'll be fine

LOL im in the same boat as you I had braces for about 4 months but they are not completely closed or connected untill I had the impacted teeth removed which I had done just 10 days ago! Anways I had to get 8 YES 8 teeth removed 4 impacted teeth 2 on each, then I had to get 2 teeth removed from each side "wisdoms" man my face was swollen for 2 weeks and it hurt like HELL! still hurts at this very moment I type but I dont think it really makes a diffrence in looks I mean all they can do is improve your apperance when its all over.Just face it if your goodlooking the braces won affect how others see you but if your not then goodluck lol!Oh yeah did I metion I have to go in on he 27th to get my braces closed in so the gaps will be pushed togethar within in a mont CANT WAIT as when I laugh it looks funny to have teeth missing on the sied of my mouth .

I had braces for about 2.5 yrs.
It may be a little hard to get used to, and be awkward if you're self conscious, but in the long run they are so worth it! You'll definately be glad you went through the braces to get to the end result.

People should ,and usually do, accept the fact. It's not uncommon for kids to have them. Hell, a lot of adults are sporting them now, too. I'm sure they would have rather had them when they were younger, so count yourself lucky!

I must also add myself to the growing congregation of people who don't know what you mean by "eye teeth."

Hey,

Lots of teenagers have braces in highschool. I know this because i'm in highschool currently. You shouldn't be ashamed that you've got braces because trust me, you're not the only one who has them. As for the missing teeth, if your braces do what they're supposed to (and i'm sure they will), you'll get rid of the gaps some time before christmas (at the latest). So, just be happy that your gaps won't be there forever.

People will like you just as much if you have braces or if you don't have braces. Teeth don't matter too much, unless they're rotten. So keep them brushed and flossed and take great care of them so you don't get rotten teeth after you get rid of your braces.

Hope what i said helped,
Brooke Lynn
