I'm only 13 , and this was my first time to use a tampon , and after 30 mins, I got really dizzy , and started throwing up , so I read the thing on the box aboiut TSS , and I have ALL of the warning signs , so I told my mom. But she WON"T belive me , she told me if was probly just a bug at the same time , but I'm almost POSITIVE thats what it is. I want her to take me to the docter , to see if it is or not , so I can know if I can wear them or not , but she won't belive me , I have NO idea why. HELP!~

TSS is a pretty rare thing. It happens, but the odds are so slim.
If you really believe that you were effeced by it, then by all means convince your mom to take you to the doctor. If you have any other problems, use that as an excuse to get in, then bring up the TSS issue and explain your concern. This way, you definately get the opportunity to have it checked out etc. If that's not possible(an appointment), get the number for the doctor's office and ask the receptionist about it, and see where you can go from there. If you're still concerned, keep at it, and don't stop until you get answers or are at least able to get info on what happened.
Definately don't use any more tampons until you know, or have gone to the doctor.

TSS stands for toxic shock syndrome.
It's a very rare thing that results from the use of tampons.
You can search the internet for more info.
If you wear tampons, there is always a slip of paper in the box, one of the issues it covers is TSS.
I don't think you can get TSS from having one in for 30 minutes, usually when people get it, it's when they've had it in for more than 8 hours, hence the directions on the box that say to take it out before them. You probably were so nervous u scared urself silly and made urself throw up. It makes sense, then again you did not tell us all your warning signs. I'm not a doctor but I am quite sure I can tell you you do not have TSS, but since you seem very scared, go to a doctor and check it out, good luck, and please don't worry im sure ur fine! :-D ::happy face happy face happy face::
You probablly don't have it, sometimes when you read something like that your body can makeitself get symptoms. Some girls think they're pregnant and then get a frequent need to urinate etc.
But I think you should see your doctor to see what you have, weither is it TSS, or a bug.
