i am three weeks overdue for a period! they have never exactly been regular, but i'm usually only out by several days. i havn't had sex recently, so i can't be pregnant... where has it gone?! is there something wrong?
sometimes if you've lost weight, or are under any type of stress your period 'disappears' or is late. maybe you just won't get one this month, but if you are really worried go and see your doctor. they should help you out.
thanks, i have lost a little bit of weight [5lbs] but surely not enough to trigger. i have exams next week so thats probably it. i shall see my gp if i don't get it in 2 weeks i think... thanks for help
Stress is a big thing that'd cause you not to have your period. Though if I have to be honest when I miss my period, I don't worry about it for two reasons: 1.) I hate my period and 2.) Missing my period happens frequently to me. Actually I'm surprised when it does arrive on time. However, I also know that my lack of period is a result of my ongoing health problems.
Another possibility is if you are malnourished. Even if you havn't lost that much weight, if you havn't been getting enough nutrients in your diet you might not get your period.
GAH...I have this same problem too. Sometimes I would go for maybe 2 months without my period. My doctor and I (I'm 14) have talked about this and since it's almost 2 years since gettin my first period, she said after the two year mark, if it's still irregular, we'd do some blood tests. (And I don't really mind not getting my period, cause I hate it too! ) Have you talked to your mom about it?
first of all, how old are you ? because in the first 2-3 years of getting your period it's normal to be irregular.
also, not eating well or sleeping enough and stress can cause this.
so it's normal.
ok, well i know it's been ages since i posted the original topic, but i have answers! it turns out i was in the start of anorexia, and i have had a rough year, but after getting help i have gained a bit of weight, but not yet regained my periods. Just thought it would be kind to finish this off, and thanks for all your advice
