Hi Sandra, sorry you are in pain. You need to see the doctor to get it sorted out. It could be a vein inflammation (phlebitis), which is pretty painful as you describe. It can be treated, so don't put up with it any longer. Good luck, Sera

You really have not given enough information about the pain for anyone to really help.
Where exactly is the pain located? I understand it is a sharp pain but does it move anywhere? Does anything precipitate the pain? Does anything make it feel better? Does anything make it feel worse? What pain killers have you been taking and at what does have you been taking them? How long has this been occurring?
I don't think it is related to your sciatic nerve as that pain is quite predictable and has a well studied pattern. Anyhow you should see your primary medical doctor so that you may have a proper physical exam conducted.
Also you might want to add if you are on any current medications?
that pain ia in my right thigh, the pains from knee to the hip...the pain doesnt move its always in the same place. Nothing makes it better or worse its always the same, Ive been having them since Saturday. I take about 3/4 painkillers a day and these are Ibuprofen wich isnt too strong but my mom wont give me any other ones.
Hi. Sorry you're having this issue. Does this happen mainly at night? I know you mentioned while running as well. Is the area hot? That would be a concern. If you are running are you getting enough fluid replacements? So many things could be going on I don't want to minimize it with an eat a banana type response. Something I've used while working triage med in places is tonic water. It can help if there is a spasm causing the pain. However, best to get looked at. Hope you feel better.
