Achy bones & Thyroid - Thyroid Disorders Message Board

For the past month the joints in my legs, arms and wrist/hand have been hurting. It feels like I have arthritis or something rather. I have a multinodular thyroid (was diagnsed as euthyroid). I go back for an exam in December. Do you think my achy bones have anything to do with the thyroid. I really dont know what to think and Im really scared about these aches. I am 26 years old.

You are not alone . I feel the same way . I am praying once my meds are right I won't feel this way anymore.. Somedays it takes all I have to get out of bed.. Hope your feeling better soon.. Marcia

I don't buy the "euthyroid" diagnosis. If you have nodules, you have a problem that warrants treatment. If you are being treated and it doesn't shrink the nodules, the treatment isn't agressive enough.

Being hypothyroid causes fluid retention for many people. For me, whne hypo, I have more fluid in my joints, and therefore have sore, stiff joints wehn I am undertreateed or untreated.

Adrenal fatigue can also cause joint swelling and those same symptoms.

Thanks for your reply Meep. My doctors say that for the time being I dont need treatment. My blood work apparently is satisfactory. I dont really have many symptoms but for a little tiredness and now my bones (hoping its not arthritis). I go back in December for more blood work and an ultrasound. I have had these nodules for at least 7 years (I am now 26). I want to try and get pregnant early next year and my doctors say that if my blood work remains this way I shouldnt have a problem. Im not really sure who to believe at this stage. Im constably scared and worried.
