Yes, it probably is thyroid-related. I have it, too. Besides that, on some days, my distance vision is very blurry. At first I thought I just need a new eyeglass Rx, but it only happens occasionally. Also... dry, gritty-feeling eyes are part of the deal.
Anyway, if you search using the term "thyroid + 'photophobia'" [medical term for light sensitivity] you'll find many references to it. Most often it's associated with Graves', but at least part of the time, it's associated with Hashi's.
