I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer when I was 16 yrs old. I've had a total thyroidectomy.. AND had Radioactive Iodine 1 yr after the surgery. and the doctor at the time.. said I was fine.. and I never went back... After being online, and the wealth of knowledge that is out there.. I have found out that you should have had periodic checks, etc.. and I've not done that.. I've been on Synthroid, Levoxal (not sure of the spelling), and my latest... for the past 4 years has been Unithroid, 300mcg, one daily. I should also note that my thyroid cancer was 18 years ago... I'm now 34, a mother of two, ages 13 and 4.... Recently, I've been to an endo, and yet another doctor who has done a thyrogen injection test on me... last week... the results are in... and the nurse explained to me.. that if they are .2 and lower.. I'm fine.. and no further tests are needed.. however.. the results are 2.6, and I now have to go in for another consultation, possibly an ultrasound, or catscan.. I wondered any opinions that u may have.. as I have never posted here before... and I want to be well-informed.. before I go in there - in a panic..Thanks so much for your help...
