Post What tests to ask for
I've had an enlarged thyroid for at least 30 years from radiation as an infant. Scan and 2 ultrasounds show enlarged thyroid with no nodules. I really think I'm hypothyroid, but tests have been normal. However, numbers for normal have changed. What tests do I ask for tomorrow? I'm assuming Tsh, T4 and antibodies, but what else? Thanks. Fish

Almost everyone that has had radiation treatments in the neck area eventually go hypothyroid. These are the tests everyone here says are the most important:

TSH
Free T3
Free T3
antibodies
