Has anyone lost weight with hypothyroidism? I've was diagnosed with an under active thyroid about 5 years ago and since I started the synthroid I have been losing weight has this happened to anyone else?

I gained over 70 lbs in less than 6 months in 1976/77. I have gotten down to 129,once.That is really too low for me,I should be 135 or so. It never lasted very long. It seemed that every time I loose a little, my thyroid gland "blows" and I go back to square one. Then with age it is more difficult to loose any weight at all. It is possible to lose wieght while your hypo I have lost 40 pounds since Feb. and not even trying to lose.
