Question thyroid, ovulation, and weight gain

Does anyone gain weight almost specifically when ovulating (more so that with PMS or something like that)? I can almost count on gaining at least 2 pounds--but up to about 8--within a day or 2. And I'm sorry, but you can't eat enough to gain that much in that short amount of time. In addition, it doesn't just disappear later...it sticks around and adds to everything else that's going on. I haven't found a cause for or a remedy to my problem. I suspect it has to do with thyroid (I've recently started Synthroid)...or maybe it's some other hormonal thing. Suggestions?

Thanks!

Do you have your test results and the lab ranges? If you do, if you post them here, someone here may be more able to give you an answer. I do gain weight during ovulation but I lose it afterwards. My boobs get HUGE! Can't fit into my bra during that time of month. I had to buy a bigger one just for those days!

FT3 = 3.4 [2.3-4.2]
TSH = 0.71 [0.6-4.6]
FT4 = 0.95 [0.75-2.0]

In addition, PRL = 11.9 [2.8-29.2] and ANA was negative.

Thanks.

You are hypothyroid, hopefully you can get on enough thyroid hormones to help you out.

Thanks, SkyEagle and Bosmom. Hopefully, my new doc will see it that way...the old one didn't. He's on the top docs page, so I think my visit will be successful...
