Smile New Dosage

I was wondering how long before you notice the change from a dosage change.
Last week I thought I was going to have a heart attack and I went to the doctor. He checked me over and did a ekg and it was fine. I have been on Levoxyl 0.1mg for years was on synthroid at first but HMO made me take Levoxyl. I had my throyid checked in March and it was fine. Monday he rechecked my Thyroid and he called me at home to say it was a little high and that he was going to reduce the dosage. The new prescription is Synthroid at 0.075 and he told the pharmacy not to give me Levoxyl. How long does it take for the new dosage to work. I am feeling a little better but not the best. The doctor doesn't want to see me again for 6 weeks.

It varies by person. For most people, it can take up to six weeks for the synthroid to fully kick in. For me, it was more like 7 or 8 weeks. Take care and good luck.

When you first start taking meds it takes longer to notice any relief in symptoms, but when you have been on meds for a while and get a dosage change you may notice a difference in as little as a week or two.
