I was wondering...do any of you with hashimotos,have any other autoimmune disease?
Cause books say that it often comes with another autoimmune disease though all endos i ve asked said that the majority of hashis doesnt mean that you have to suffer from other autoimmune disease also.
They said ...that if you happen to suffer from lupus for example YOU MAY produce hashis and not vice versa.
What's your opinion/experience on this?

I have a slightly postive ANA, so I worry about Lupus in the back of my mind, but my DR feels my ANA is a marker for Hashis, since it's just shows you have auto immunity going on, but it's not specific. Lupus is still quite rare, and thyroid disease is not.

The other disease I hear about more is Diabetes, as far as being related.

i have cfs, which is better abbreviatied as cfids, but they still aren't completely sure whether it's autoimmune, and i seem to recall that a few posters have fibro ... i'm only hypo myself, but it makes a lot of sense that if one can have one autoimmune disease ...
