Question Tree Frog? I asked for DHEA and was told it was in the Men's health section??????

Hi there, Went to Wild Oats last night to get some liquid calcium. I had read your post and DHEA sounded good to me, so I asked the woman helping me for it. She looked at me and said it was in the Men's section of the store. I bought it anyway, but now I want to be sure I won't grow a moustache??!!
I did not get the brand of liquid calcuim I wanted eithe. I may have to look to order it on line. I am living in the country.
Thanks
I

Hi Ibis,
Dhea is not just for men, and it won't make you grow a mustache. But you need a blood test and to not take it unless you are deficient. It can be over-dosed.

Synthetic DHEA is a dangerous steroid drug, and a lot of medical reports have been published and aired on national television media networks, including ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN, that report side effects of synthetic DHEA which range from cancer, liver and kidney infection, to depression, dizziness, headaches, etc.

Do an internet search on Dhea overdose and Dhea levels.
There is a LOT of info on the net.

Be sure of your product source and do not use Dhea unless you actually need it.

By the way, would you remind me what I actually posted about Dhea in the past?

If I said anything amiss I apolegize deeply.

********,
You posted the DHEA information from an anti aging board. I'll have to look back for more information. Hope that helps.

Ibis, Someone, I think Sky_Eagle said women should take DHEA-7(or something like that). My experience with regular DHEA was that it made me immediately start my period(two weeks early) and my face broke out for the first time in my life. I quit and tried it again about a month later with same results. It can cause menopause also, and I wasn't in any rush for that. I just decided to use progesterone cream and pregnenolone because they help you body make the kind of DHEA it needs. I hope to have my thyroid and adrenals straightened out before I have to deal with the menopause thing. IWL

That would be 7-keto DHEA.
