I had a head cold last week. That got better. Now, I have this cough that sounds like bronchitis. Nothing coming up. A tickly feeling in my throat. Sometimes (only when I'm laying down), I start feeling like bubbles in my throat just under the adams apple and I cough so hard and so bad that I feel like I'm choking to death! I'm going to call the doctor in the morning. I have no other symptoms. I can't take this anymore! No sleep because I cough ALL NIGHT LONG! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/blob_fire.gif And then it seems like when I'm coughing my butt off, most of my hypo things appear more. Like the muscle pain, numbness and tingling. Do you all think I'm just having a virus thing for more than 2 weeks? I took amoxiccilin the whole time for the infection I had in my tooth. I haven't taken any cough meds because of the thyroid issue. I can't go much longer like this. I'm tired already with this thyroid thing still not under control. Now no sleep because of this darn cough! Any advice guys? I feel like I could just pass out now but if I lay down, I'll cough till I choke.

Maybe postnasal drip? When I have it, gargling with the head held wa-a-aay back (almost upside down, if you can picture that) helps me. This head position causes the salt water to rinse out the back of the nasopharynx. You could alternatively do nasal irrigation, which will accomplish the same thing. The objective is to clear out the area between the nose and the back of the throat. Use a solution of 1/2 tsp salt and a pinch of baking soda in 8 oz of cool water.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to try that. I slept in my recliner last night. Slept much better. Don't know why I didn't do that a couple of nights ago. Thanks again!

hi, i also had that problem for quite a while. couldn't sleep unless sitting up. my mom currently has the problem. i am now starting to feel like my dose of armour is about right and i have not had the coughing problem for about a month now. hoping my mom will feel better as she gets closer to right dose. hope you start feeling better soon!

Strange cough 
Any advice guys? I feel like I could just pass out now but if I lay down, I'll cough till I choke.
