Hi,
I posted a little while back about my daughter with subacute thyroiditis, when I posted, she was hyperthyroid. She went to the doc today who says she is hypo now. He started her on synthroid and she is starting it today. What can I expect from this? Like has anyone had any problems on it. She is also taking Atenolol 25 mg every night. Thanks

Do you have lab results? Synthroid is not a complete replacement hormone. How old is she?

Thanks for replying! I dont know what the results were, I will try and get them this week. She is 12 yo and is also on Atenolol. I will write back when I get the labs. Thanks again

I would also see if they tested her antibodies, I had hyper and hypo symtoms for the last like 16 years and I am forty now, they never tested antibodies on me till 3 months ago and found I had the tpo and tgab antibodies which probably were the cause of all the symptoms I have had for years. the tpo antibodies can cause hypo symptoms while the tgab antibodies can cause hyper symtoms . It may be worth checking out
