TSH = 4.6, please advise

Hello Everyone, I am 23 years old and I got my thyroid removed in August 2003 due to a hurthle cell tumor.

I was put on .88 mcgs of synthroid after my surgery, it was upped to 1.0 and now increased again to 1.12 because my tsh is 4.6

This is much too high, right? Will 1.12 be high enough for me to not be hypo anymore.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Courtney

Courtney! Big question is...how do you feel? Not what the numbers say. Your TSH is definitely too high: http://www.aace.com/pub/tam2003/press.php and http://thyroid.about.com/cs/testsforthyroid/a/labs2003.htm
If your doctor isn't listening, perhaps a new one is in order. Often people in this situation need to see a few different doctors before they find one that helps. One site, in case it helps, is this one: http://thyroid.about.com/cs/doctors/a/topdocs.htm
Let me know if it helps!
