Armour? symptoms of thyroid? - Thyroid Disorders Message Board

I have been having dry eyes, dry mouth and burning tounge. This came on suddenly on 4/5/04. i was diagnosed with Hashimotos on 3/29/04. Weird. Anyway-all blood work has been negative for Sjogrens. I had a lip biopsy on Thursday and awaiting results. i have been on Levoxyl since 3/31/04. I called my Dr. and he told me that now my thyroid is back within the normal range, to go off the Levoxyl for three weeks to see if the Levoxyl is causing this symptoms and then start Armour if the symptoms were the result of it. Does anyone have any ideas? Is Armour better? I don't know what to do next!

Dry eyes, dry mouth and burning tongue. Huh? How come you posted about my health problems?

I have Hashi's and I have those same symptoms. I also have tested negative for Sjogrens and anything else. When I started on 1 grain of Armour those symptoms backed off quite a bit, and when I go up to 90mg's I believe I'll see even more improvement. I really like Armour, but I have to agree with some others on here that at first my symptoms were worse. Patience is the name of the game here. I never took Levoxyl so I don't know what to tell ya about that. Good Luck!

Wow! Thanks for the response. i am really suffering and I hope that the Armour helps. i'll let everyone know. If that lip biopsy comes back negative as well-i am going to insist to my Dr. that I start Armour.

I just started Armour about 2 weeks ago and I really like it. My symtoms so far have not gotten worse but I really don't think they have my dose right yet. My endo is a sweetheart. If I talk to him right he lets me do anything I want.

Armour is so smooth when it hits your system it is not hash like the synthetics. I had a lot of problems with levoxol and synthroid. I told my endo after the first pill my system didn't like the synthetics but I had to go through 2 1/2 months of trying the synthetics to make him happy. And just like your doc it was his idea to try Armour. If you are having problems with the synthetics, armour really feels good. I have alot of symtoms yet but not as bad. I acually thought my endo was trying to poison when he put me on the synthetics. When they put me on meds the only symtoms I had was some brain fog, some tiredness, and my hair was all messed up. Then he put me on meds. and I have gotten whole ball of wax. I was so tired and hurting so bad. I have never been that sick and not been in the hospital.

You will find these people really know what they are talking about, if they recommend something it is for your own good.

I have some dry mouth symtoms since I changed how I take my meds. I was taking them twice a day and now I am trying them once per day.

Have you read the archives yet? There is a lot of info in there and web sites to visit for more info on meds. and information on our disease.
