I have a question...

What's more common with hypothyroidism, low blood pressure or high blood pressure?

Re: I have a question...

I don't know what the others think, but I'm hypo and tend to have low blood pressure.
hopefully some of the thyroid gurus can help on the science bit!

I am hypo and my blood pressure tends to run a bit high but I am also overwieght. I find when I exercise it helps lower the blood pressure some.

Re: I have a question...

My BP was perfectly normal, 115-120/65-70, except at the MDs office. Then it spiked to as high as 180/95... But that man and his staff really ticked me off at every visit. (For example, he refused to test my thyroid when I specifically asked him to.) When I go to my new doc's office - and now that I'm on thyroid med - BP stays consistently in the normal range. No more spikes.

Most of the symptom lists I've seen say low BP is the usual thing with hypo; but realistically, it can go either way.
