Important info for thyroid patients re autoimmune endocrine "syndrome"
I'm "visiting" from the Immune Disorders forum, having been recently diagnosed with myasthenia gravis; but I also have Hashi's, so I should really "visit" here more often!!
I recently came across an interesting article about autoimmune endocrine diseases, including Hashi's and Graves', and a particular syndrome in which these diseases coexist with other specific "organ-specific" autoimmune diseases that are not endocrine in nature. This syndrome presents as three "types". (One of the "types" also implicates myasthenia gravis, which is neither an endocrine, nor an organ-specific condition, although it is autoimmune in nature.) All three types feature either Hashi's or Graves'.
