| New to this board
Hi
I am new to this board today and have been reading and reveiwing your posts. Sounds like there are a lot of us in the same boat. I suspect now that I have been having thyroid problems for years, started after my 16 year old was born. Two years ago I had mononucleosis (age 46) that went into subacute thyroiditis. Saw 3 doctors in June complaining of hyper symptoms: shortness of breath, muscle weakness, anxiety(chewing up Xanax), insomnia, dizziness, irritable, etc. in other words (text book symptoms) and was told it was stress. Wanted to put me on Wellbutrin. I hope I never hear the word stress again. It makes me so mad now. Now my levels are all over the place. TSH .5 in June, 1.69 in July, 1.98 now. My Free T4 is 1 .5 which was just a little above normal and I have positive TPO (52) and positive whatever the other one is (38) also. Also had elevated AST which is supposedly to show inflammation in the body. Was also elevated when I had subacute thyroiditis. RAIU was normal. Have seen an endocrinologist who did a whole lot of head scratching. She is doing more antibody testing TSI and TBII (whatever that is) to try to find out what is going on with me. I really thing maybe she is on the right track and trying to decide whether it is Grave's of Hashi's. Most of the time I have Hashi symptoms with a large weight gain the last few years, but have "spurts" of hyper. Anyone else have this?
