Saliva testing results..how tied in with thyroid?
I am a 39 yo premenopausal hypoT. I started having problems after having my second child at 36 yo. I haven't felt like I think I should since then. After deciding that I wasn't getting where I felt like I needed to be with docs, I ordered saliva hormone testing done at home. Here are the results:
Estradiol 2.3 1.0-5.0 Range
Progesterone 57 100-600 Range*
Progesterone/Estradiol Ratio 25 50-200 Range*
Testesterone 37 20-50 Range
DHEA-S 15.8 3-10 Range*
Cortisol Morning 13.1 3-8 Range*
Cortisol Noon 2.8 2-4 Range
Cortisol Evening .3 1-2 Range*
How does all this fit into the picture of hypoT? Has anyone had their saliva tested? I have fax'd copies to my endo as well as alternative doc, to see what they have to say.
My personal opinion...I thought all along that something was blocking the use of my .075 Levoxyl. I feel that it is estrogen excess, or the lack of adequate progesterone. Why my cortisol and DHEA-S is elevated, may also play a role in the lack of progesterone. Anyone have experience here? Anyone taking progesterone, cream or pill? If so, why are you taking it and how do you feel?
I know that using progesterone cream might complicate things more, or create more problems for me. But then again it might help me solve this puzzle.
Any input you have in any of these areas will be greatly appreciated!!!!
I wish you all a great day!
Cortisol Night 1.3 .5-1.5 Range
