Anyone with Nausea and Constipation(Hypo)

Is there anyone with nausea and constipation together.
Trying to figure out the nausea. Even thought it could be the D with my calcium. Im hypo. and was just switched fro Levoxyl to Levothyroid.
I have so many symptoms like muscle and back pain it makes me
think something else is wrong. Does anyone else worry about every symptom they get? Thank You for this board.suem

Re: Anyone with Nausea and Constipation(Hypo)

Sue I get nausea something fierce. I've attributed it to the dizziness I get and the exhaustion - both nauseate me. The dizziness is most likely (in my case) from low blood pressure.

I don't tend to suffer from constipation but that is because I ate a lot of fibre- about 40g a day- when I am not paying attention to my diet I do notice it have problems, though.

Both constipation and nausea are common hypoT symptoms, as are the weak muscles and the cramping. It's all related to metabolism, which thyroid plays a big part in.

What has worried me most is the almost daily headaches I get - I never used to get them, for a period of 3 years I could count on one hand the number of times I'd had to take tylenol or advil for a headache. That freaked me out.

Re: Anyone with Nausea and Constipation(Hypo)

I am hypo and get very constipated. With the constipation I get nausea and stomach pain and back pain.

If I don't take a laxative everyday I AM IN BIG TROUBLE!!!!

Everyday I try to eat fiber but that does not do any good.

Nat & Lady50,
Thank You so much for your replys.I have increased fiber, trying to
get back to normal. I had a really bad hyper period where my level
dropped to fast and lost now 15 lbs. I have had to change my
eating completely. I would love to have some chocolate or sweets
but sugar doesnt set well anymore. You both helped me understand
the nausea as I have really thought something else was happening.
Thank You so much. suem

Nat. Sorry to hear of your headaches. Has any muscle tightness created
some neck pain that is causing them? suem

Re: Anyone with Nausea and Constipation(Hypo)

I get the constipation, nausea and dizziness too. I'm not so constipated now that my synthroid is increased and I do try to eat a fair amount of fiber, but I do want to point out that it is very important to not only eat fiber, but drink lots of water. If I drink 2 glasses of water in the morning when i get up, it takes about 30 minutes or so and then I get a bm. Fiber will not work without water.

Thanks, Sue, but it's from the hypoT. I've heard that low levels of T4 can cause this. Interestingly enough I began taking a very low dose of eltroxin (canadian version of synthroid) yesterday and it was my first headache-free day in weeks. I almost feel hopeful at this point

Re: Anyone with Nausea and Constipation(Hypo)

I also began getting headaches everyday. I have constipation too, with back pain. This is so weird. This is my first time being on here, and the threads I have read so far are just about identical to how I feel. Thank God for this website.
