From what I have read on the boards here, osteopathic docs seem to generally be better for getting a thyroid diagnosis and treatment. However, the specific one you list here, a neuropathologist, probably would not be the way to go. That basically means that they specialize in disorders of nerves, which the thyroid gland is not. So you might run into the problem that this doc just doesn't do thyroids. I would look for a DO that specializes in general practice or internal medicine, and ask the office if they treat thyroid disorders (also check the info archive on this board for other questions to ask a prospective doc).
