is a symptom of hypothyroidism. There's a very comprehensive list of all the symptoms in the Information Archive, FYI. I'd print it off and check those symptoms that apply to you - it's pretty overwhelming when you do. I'd been attributing all my little aches and pains and headaches to other things and writting them off, when you put it all together in one place it's amazing that you didn't see the pattern before.
TSH isn't a constant, the level can fluctuate during the year and even during the day. Your lab range indicates that you're normal, however the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists has changed the range, they suggest that it should be .3-2.5 and anyone with symptoms and even a slightly elevated TSH merits treatment. The fact that your antibodies are high is a sign you have the auto immune type - this alone should get your doctor's attention.
You want to have a few more tests run, your Free T4 and Free T3 levels. These will tell you the amount of actual thyroid hormones you have in your body. Women do better with their FT's in the upper 3rd of the range, so if yours are normal but on the low end chances are you'll still feel bad.
I would suggest doing a little research here before you go see the Endo - it's best to be prepared because often doctors (even specialists) don't know much about this. I'd visit the AACE website and print off the January 2003 and 2004 press release with the new ranges and also get Guidelines 23 & 27 from the National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry - these show that TSH should be at a specific level and so should FT4.
Good luck with the specialist.
