t3 metabolism

Has anyone heard of the metabolism t3 capsules? I found them in the drugstore diet section the other day. It says it aids in helping weight loss for people who have an underactive thyroid. No ephedra. I didnt dare purchase them without knowing if they really work. I have had my thyroid removed and am on sythroid and I have been dieting and exercising and still no change in weight. Its very frusterating.

Re: t3 metabolism

Never heard of them but I don't think I'd try something like that. It may contain T3 which one has to be very careful with the amount you take, shouldn't be an over the counter sort of thing, or it may contain iodine or something else to stimulate T3 production.

Have you had your FREE levels checked lately? If your Free T3 and Free T4 are not at the optimal level for you then weightloss will be more difficult, both your FREE levels NEED to be in the upper third of the labs range.

Re: t3 metabolism

I just checked them out - they contain largley calcium, guggle extract and Garcinia Cambogia (a form of Hydroxycitric acid). Guggle has been known to support thyroid - or at least it did a few years ago, but primarily it is used to help lower cholesterol levels. I don't know how well this would work, Wendy, but I suspect it might be a waste of money. I'd also be careful when you took it; calcium shouldn't be taken w/in 4 hours of your thyroid meds.
