I've been on 75 mcg since late June, I think. In August my TSH was down to 1.53. I just had it run again on 9/20 and now it is .96 - no wonder I feel pretty good (aside from bronchitis, unrelated). I'm wondering if I will finally begin to lose the 15 - 20 lbs I gained as I went hypo.

Re: Update TSH now .96, will I finally start losing?
Are you asking if just having your metabolism restored if you'll lose automatically?
I can tell you from my own experience that I haven't lost anything since my levels have been balanced, but then... I haven't tried to lose, either.
I'm sure it happens sometimes that weight is lost automatically after treatment; but most people find that the pounds don't just melt away simply from having the hormones replaced. Being treated just levels the playing field, making it possible to lose when the effort is made.
Check Dr. Ken Blanchard's or Dr. Ridha Arem's books for hints on how to lose once treatment is optimal.

No, I wasn't hoping for "automatic" weight loss. But I run from 25 - 40 miles a week, and I was kind of hoping that as my body adjust back to normal that I'd actually lose some weight from all the calories I'm burning. Between June 1 and August 31, I ran about 375 miles and biked 750 miles --- and only lost about 5 lbs. It's depressing. I sure didn't eat the calories to support the weight plus that activity level. I'm hoping to cut back, get rid of every "white" in my diet - and hope that the metabolism cooperates.
