Exclamation URLs to scientific literature-Can you access them?

So I still don't know if it is possible to post PDF files on the boards. I've tried contacting the moderators but they've never let me know if and how I can. That's too bad because I have collected a lot of scientific literature. I copied the urls to some of the papers. I don't know if you will be able to open/access them or not. Maybe you can on some and not on the others. If you can, on most of them there will be a link for the PDF format. The PDF file will be the way it was published in the journal. This is the format you would want to show your doc if you want it as a reference.

Re: URLs to scientific literature-Can you access them?

Thank you for the hard work you've done in locating all this useful information.

Truthfully, I'm not convinced it's necessary to post entire PDF files on the board. IMO, it would be only an occasional user who would need all the scientific info that's available on a certain topic, and it would be a rare doctor who would take time to sit and read an entire document, anyway. A good doctor wouldn't need the proof, and a bad doctor would never be convinced even with all the evidence in the world.

I remember telling you that I might need access to such info for my own situation, where my free hormones continue to be a bit low. I've come to realize that this might be OK for me... that I feel my normal self despite it. And I've come to trust my doctor even more, in that if I want to try a small dose bump, he will let me have a trial to see if it helps. So, I no longer feel I need such extensive scientific info to prove my case.

So... If I remember right, you needed thyroid information for yourself. You thought you might have it and were looking for a diagnosis? How did that turn out?

Re: URLs to scientific literature-Can you access them?

I didn't necessarily want to put the articles in PDF just for presentation to the docs. I'd hope to put some review articles etc. for everyone’s own education. IMHO, I believe everyone should do what they can to learn the ends and outs of their disease/disorder, no matter what it is. I think having the journals in the proper format is best, but maybe that's just the researcher in me.

Can you open the files? I have others, I just didn’t want to waist time getting all the urls and then you guys not be able to open them.

As for me, I’m doing pretty well. I found a great doctor several months ago and I am now on Armour. Thanks for asking!

Re: URLs to scientific literature-Can you access them?

Yes, they open.
Some still require a fee to access the full text edition, though. NEJM articles, for one, are not cost-free except to members.
It's still nice to know they're available if needed.

Glad you're doing well on your Armour!

Re: URLs to scientific literature-Can you access them?

I hope I can figure out another way to get the full journals to all of you. If I was able to post the pdf then I could get everything to you.
