Melasma - Thyroid Disorders Message Board

I just read about a connection between melasma & thyroid patients. Melasma is a darkening of the skin on the face usually connected w/ either birth control pills or pregnancy & sunlight. (Hormones)

Anyway...I was diagnosed with melasma this week and given a bunch of free skin cream. The doctor told me to put it on twice a day. But now I'm wondering for how long. Has anyone else used skin bleaching cream for dark patches?

Hi , I have Melasma too , I only have a few patches on my face which just make me look like i've a sun tan . so i don't need any creams , but i do make sure I keep out of the sun or use sun block as it does seem to get worse if i get sun on it ..

I have one lousy spot on my jawbone about the size of a dime. When I get in the sun, it gets darker. I hate it. I might have to get me some skin bleaching cream.
