Unhappy burning sensations

Hi all.
I wondered if someone could help me??
Is a burning sensation (as if , being touched by a lighter,ON FIRE)
a symptom of thyroid problems, if not what else could this be?
Does anyone else get these sensations?
TIA, Kelly

Re: burning sensations

Where are you having these burning sensations? I have them along my neck, ear, head and sometimes down my shoulder. The doctor says it is part of the hashimotos. I have nodules and am hyperthyroid. My thyroid is also swollen. I don't know why it causes the burning sensation but that is what he said. I will have to ask at my next appointment. He just put me on tapazoil (?) about a month ago and it is very slowly getting better. I always described mine as a pins and needles/burning feeling. Have you been diagnosed with anything?

Trying to get my levels in normal range and have wondered if levels

Re: burning sensations

I also have the burning sensation I described it to the doctor as "hot spots" they appear in my arm, stomach area, leg etc. I don't know what causes them but never had them before I went hypo 6 months ago. When my hypo symptoms are under control they do not occur as frequently.

Re: burning sensations

Thanks Kelly, Sue & not feeling good, for your replies,
I have not been diagnosed with thyroid problems but have been tested and my bld work comes back normal. My doc is pretty good she has tested me for lots, but can't find a specific diagnoses.
We have found TMJ(jaw),MVP(cardiac),Oesteo arthritis of fingers, toes, knees, hips and IBS(bowels)
I have felt crappy for awhile now and it kinda comes and goes(well weans)
My mother has Graves, and alot of my symptoms seem thyroid related( or maybe pitutary)
I thinking about asking doc to send me to an Endo........What do you guys think? Can they(endo) find more than a GP?
TIA

Re: burning sensations

HI Infante
I do have anxiety, but I can't see that causing the burn. I will just be sitting watching tv and all of a sudden I have to look at my foot to see if I'm on fire.I used to get it in my forearm( muscle) but now it is always in the top of my foot( always right side)
I have been surfing the net and came across burn ing symptoms due to liver problems .
