Question Meep I have a question for you

I noticed you said to take calcium supplements 8 hours after you take the t4 meds. Does that also go for milk or any foods with calcium?

I like to think so. Since Calcium binds to the thyroid hormones in yoru stomach and intestines, it prevents them from being absorbed--regardless of whether you took them in pill form or in your food.

Of couse a supplement will likely have more of an impact than a glass of milk, but why risk that kind of inconsistency.

4 hours is the recommended time frame, and the 8 hours I like to recommend is an ultra-conservative and safe bet, but probably not necessary. I want to make sure that the amount of homone I absorb from my pills is the same from day to day, no matter what, so I may take it to an extreme. On the other hand, I am sure I owe my good health, at least in part, to my careful adherence to these extremes. Better safe than sorry, right?
