Question Quick Q re: Adding t3
I'm on 106mcg Synthroid...and have been for two months.

How long does the TSH need to be suppressed and how far suppressed does it logically need to be before I add porcine extract? (thyroid cancer..total T)

Is it not true that T3 suppresses TSH more dramatically than T4?

Hi Soft,

My doctor added Armour (now 2 grains) to my 125mcg thyroxine a few weeks ago. He wasn't interested in my TSH level - just how I was feeling (awful). The free T numbers are more relevant when considering T3 meds.

The Armour worked really well for me at the start and I thought it was great (until I started self-medicating and got in a mess!
